KATE BAILEY, Director
Kate is a leading authority on Zero Waste best practices and focuses on the facts, details, and logistics that help Zero Waste initiatives succeed. She has more than 10 years of experience creating national reports, websites, webinars, and tools to empower citizens, government staff and elected officials to adopt Zero Waste solutions. She is a frequent speaker on Zero Waste, particularly as a climate solution, for audiences from citizen groups to state officials to industry panels.
ERIC LOMBARDI, Director Emeritus and Strategic Advisor
Eric has traveled the world of Zero Waste. He was the Executive Director of Eco-Cycle for 24 years and has had a long career in resource conservation and policy, social enterprise development, and nonprofit management. Eric has been a leading spokesperson and founder of the Zero Waste movement and has worked nationally and internationally as a project consultant, keynote speaker, and workshop leader. He is also a recognized authority on developing comprehensive community-based resource recovery programs.
MARTI MATSCH, Media Director
Marti is considered a national expert in creating words, images, and communication tools to change a community’s environmental behavior and to increase recycling and waste reduction participation. Marti has created much of the communications material that is used nationally and internationally to frame the Zero Waste movement and has more than 20 years of experience in community organizing and developing educational communication tools.
ALISON PETERS, Strategic Development Advisor
Alison is the CEO of Entrellis, LLC, where she provides a human-centered design approach to help organizations increase the value they deliver to clients. Her work includes strategic planning, program design, customer research, streamlining business processes, developing client tracking systems, leading team-based project planning, and facilitating workshops on human-centered design and lean systems. Alison has also served as Managing Director of the Deming Center for Entrepreneurship at CU-Boulder, the Environmental Affairs Director for the City of Boulder, a personal and professional coach, and a congressional legislative assistant.
DONNA BARLOW-CASEY, Project Advisor
As Executive Director for Central Vermont Solid Waste Management District, Donna wrote the first Zero Waste plan in the Green Mountain State, then built innovative organics programs to demonstrate the viability and practicality of food waste diversion. Donna has been a leading voice for Zero Waste and has worked with New England municipalities for 25 years creating and implementing environmentally sound programs, several of which became national models.
KATE NELSON, Project Associate
Kate’s Zero Waste experience began as an Eco-Cycle educator spreading the Zero Waste word to high school students. Now editing, writing, and marketing for Eco-Cycle Solutions, she sees firsthand how the no-waste concepts once considered futuristic are becoming the norm in communities around the world.
